CASTLE TANK BEER

Hops is  proud to be the only restaurant in Ballito to serve “Castle Tank Beer” - The freshest beer in Africa, delivered from the brewery in a dedicated “Fresh Beer” truck, straight to 500L copper tanks – and into your glass. Castle Tank Beer is unpasteurised, giving it a unique, unspoilt, refreshingly crisp taste that is alive with flavour. Pasteurisation involves heating the beer to a temperature that will kill any remaining bacteria and yeast in the beer and it does actually impact the flavour of the beer quite a bit. Secondly, this beer is being served from a tank, rather than a keg. Compressed air is pumped into the tank, which pushes the beer out of the tank and to the tap. No CO2, no bloated feelings and less hangover. Best seller in the Hops since installation.
